Help Japan, Look Good Doing It

Salon Da Vinci in Newport Beach will hold a "cut-a-thon" to raise money for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

A Newport Beach salon is holding a "" to raise money to aid victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

will donate all proceeds from the April 17 event, which will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to the relief effort in Japan through the American Red Cross.

"By giving back and encouraging the members of our community to do the same, we can help make a difference for those in need in Japan," said Rhianna Wiley, the salon's receptionist. "This event gives everyone the gratification of knowing that their donation is going to a great cause, as well as providing a fantastic haircut to keep everyone looking beautiful."

Many of the salon's stylists, along with stylists from other local salons, are donating their time and talents to the effort. The minimum donation per haircut is $10, but customers are encouraged to donate more.
