Emergency Siren Testing; Skateboarding Lessons

A handful of things happening in and around Newport Beach.

  1. The city will test its at 12:15 p.m. today.
  2. City employees will be giving home security tips from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Saturday. A booth will be set up at Eastbluff Village Center, 2555 Eastbluff Drive.
  3. Skatedogs is holding skateboarding classes at the Newport Coast Community Center. Upcoming sessions will be held March 7, 14 and 21. Cost is $89. Call 949-644-3151 for more information.
  4. Temperatures today are expected to reach 73 degrees, according to the Weather Channel, with mostly sunny skies. Saturday is expected to be a little warmer at 75 degrees and partly cloudy skies. Sunday is expected to top out at 69 degrees, with partly cloudy skies.
  5. Orange County Restaurant Week is under way and runs through tomorrow, March 5. Several Newport Beach eateries are among the 100 participating restaurants. Don't miss out!
