Please send us your photos!

Dozens of spectators are turning out to watch the power and majesty of the Pacific Ocean and the few brave souls who dare to ride in it.

Massive waves are slamming the Wedge in Newport Beach again today as a south swell his  in the Southland. The high surf is expected to continue through this evening, with Orange County scoring the biggest waves. And, as the Surfboard Man says, major wipeouts are inevitable.

The National Weather Service says the waves will generate strong and dangerous rip currents and that localized beach erosion is possible. Extreme negative tides are expected in the mornings.

Waves of up to 9 feet are forecast in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Surfline.com has a complete forecast.

Read a touching tale of a boy and his board in the days of yore.

Special thanks to Michael Biehl at www.pathwaypics.smugmug.com for the flying surfer photo.
