Are You Ready for Some ... Rain?

A cold front from the Gulf of Alaska will move through Orange County on Wednesday and Thursday, bringing up to two inches of rain and heavy winds.

A strong early season storm originating in the Gulf of Alaska is forecast to bring rain and strong winds to the Southland on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Rain will increase and become widespread throughout Orange County on Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front will move through the region Wednesday night as most of the precipitation decreases. A few thunderstorms are possible late Wednesday and Thursday morning, forecasters said.

The county is expected to receive one to two inches of rain. Snow will accumulate only at the highest elevations.

Winds will increase during the day Wednesday with gusts of up to 55 mph expected. A wind advisory will be in effect Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night; a small craft advisory will be in effect for the coastal waters Wednesday afternoon through Thursday.

 Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably cool through Thursday. Fair and warmer weather is expected to return Friday.
