'Amazing Race' Newport Beach?

Love the TV show? Then you'll love racing around the city on April 6 in a a clue-solving oceanside quest for bragging rights and a prize to be named later.

For the first time ever, CityRace is happening in Newport Beach.

The CityRace Urban Adventure Hunts, was inspired by the TV show The Amazing Race, where teams race around the world for a $1 million prize. Such a huge windfall will not await the winners of this particular oceanside adventure through Newport Beach, though, but there will be prizes ...

The object is to send teams of two to four players running around Newport Beach for three hours while they solve clues, answer site-specific trivia questions and crack codes. The CityRace will go from Balboa Island to the Peninsula's historic Pavilion, Pier, Fun Zone and more.

The first team that finishes the race with the most correct answers wins ... not $1 million, but a yet-to-be-determined prize. Hey, bragging rights are a good enough reward, no?

The race will be held on April 6, and kicks off at 10 a.m. Registration is $40 per person.

The CityRace runs take place in many other SoCal cities, including Laguna Beach, Pasadena, Hollywood, Culver City and Santa Monica.

Sounds like fun? Of course it does. Click up the main website of the race here to register and for more information.
