A.M. Roundup: Former City Manager Dies, Civic Center Progress, Library Juggling
A handful of things happening in and around Newport Beach.
• Kevin Murphy, Newport Beach's city manager from 1992 to 1998, died of cancer Thursday, the Daily Pilot reported. Murphy was 57.
• Crews this month will start work on the basement level of the City Hall building at the new Civic Center, according to a city newsletter. The ground floor of the parking structure has been completed; 1,077 cubic yards of concrete was used. Construction, so far, has cost a total of $16,485,602 (through the end of June), the newsletter said.
• World class juggler David Cousins will be at the next week to show off his skills. The juggling demonstration is Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Cousins holds five world records in juggling and puts on a funny, family-friendly show.

• Temperatures for today are forecast to be in the low-70s, according to the weather channel. Things will warm up for the weekend, with temperatures forecast to top off at 75 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday.
