Man Electrocuted While Taking Photos of Sunset in Tree

He wasn't found until this morning.

A 28-year-old man seeking to take pictures of the sunset was fatally electrocuted when he somehow got tangled in electrical wires while sitting on a backyard tree at his Tustin home, a fire captain said today.

The man was found dead today by his parents, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:40 a.m. to the residence in the 15600 block of South California Street on a call of a “possible burn injury, male stuck in a tree against power lines,” Concialdi said.

“We had to wait until (Southern California) Edison arrived to make sure all the power (lines) were de-energized,” he said.

The Orange County coroner's office identified the man as David Strohm Jr.
