That's 7.5 cents more than just one week ago.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County rose today to its highest amount since March 20, 2013, increasing 1.4 cents to $4.134. It is 7.5 cents more than one week ago, 16.5 cents higher than one month ago and 12.1 cents above what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen 11 consecutive days, increasing 8.4 cents over that span, including six-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.

"Traditionally, gas prices tend to rise in the spring before peaking sometime in May," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
