“Lisa Simpson” Marks OC Saxophone Debut At Bayside Restaurant June 13

Lisa Simpson, from the popular hit TV series, “The Simpsons,” will mark her debut playing sax at Bayside Restaurant’s popular “All That Jazz” series on Friday, June 13 at (10:30pm).  The actual musician behind the cartoon character is Doug Webb, who grew up in OC and graduated from Edison High School in Huntington Beach and went on to earn a coveted reputation as one of the entertainment industry’s most in-demand musicians.

Clint Eastwood personally tapped Webb for many of his films and even soloed on the soundtracks of the filmmaker’s Oscar winners, “Million Dollar Baby” and “Mystic River.”   In addition, his work has been featured on more than 150 recordings including those for Quincy Jones, Carly Simon, Rod Stewart, Bonnie Raitt and Kenny Rogers.

In addition to live music performed in a lounge setting, Executive Chef Paul Gstrein has earned praise for his late night supper menu that features items like an Angus beef burger, lobster salad bruschetta, a Mediterranean olive medley and garlic Parmesan French fries.  Prices range from $5.95 to $12.50.  A wide range of premium domestic and imported beers, 34 wines by the glass and handcrafted cocktails are available.
