Bistango Rings in the New Year with Prix Fixe Menu for Fine Dining Fans!

Those looking to ring in the New Year with an evening of fine dining may consider the prix fixe offerings from one of OC’s most critically acclaimed restaurants. Bistango in Irvine is offering two seatings, 5 – 7 p.m. and 7:30 – 10 p.m., as well as live music and dancing from 9 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. The entertainment will be provided by the Larry Fresch quartet.

Executive Chef Javier Montoya has crafted a 3-course dinner for the evening that begins with a first course of your choice of sashimi-grade Yellowfin tuna tartar; green papaya and lobster salad; Tomato “Dashi” with scallions, baby shrimp, Shiitake mushrooms and carrots; or pancetta-wrapped Mexican prawn served with butternut-Kabocha squash risotto, aged balsamic and cranberry compote. Entrée choices include baked Chilean sea bass, grilled prime corn-fed filet mignon, roasted free-range chicken, Bistango’s cioppino and pan-roasted Kurobuta pork tenderloin medallion. Desserts selections include chocolate decadence cake and white chocolate cheesecake. There are differences in the 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. dinners and a Champagne toast is included in the latter seating. Cost is $69 for the first seating and $110 for the second.

Bistango is renowned for its diverse menu of fine American contemporary cuisine set in an airy atmosphere distinguished by fine art exhibits and large umbrellas that suspend from the ceiling lending great intimacy. An extensive cocktail list of classics and house specialties and a 400-bottle wine list that was heralded by Wine Spectator round out the offerings. Bistango serves lunch and dinner weekdays and dinner-only Saturdays. Live entertainment can be enjoyed each evening in its sophisticated lounge where couples may enjoy dancing the night away.
