Dolphins, Writing Workshops and a Fair Housing Clinic

1. Today at 1 p.m. the OASIS Senior Center will be showing the movie, Argo, starring Ben Affleck and John Goodman. The movie will be shown at the OASIS Event Center, 801 Narcissus Ave. in Corona del Mar.

2. Tenants and landlords are invited to a free Fair Housing Walk-In Clinic today from 3-5 p.m. at Newport Beach City Hall in the Corona del Mar Meeting Room Bay 1E, 100 Civic Center Dr. A housing counselor will be available to discuss rental housing issues, tenant/landlord disputes and questions about Fair Housing Laws. 3. Today from 4-7 p.m. the Newport Beach Public Library is hosting a Summer Stories Creative Writing Workshop. The workshop is for middle and high school students to explore the writing process--outlining, first drafts, revising--and create a personal narrative based on one of their own summer experiences.
Students are encouraged to bring a photograph or two from a past summer to use as a writing prompt. Students are welcome to bring their own laptops or tablets if they prefer to write on a computer. To RSVP sign-up here. The workshop will be held at the Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.

4. Today at 6 p.m., Laguna Beach Live! will continue its Sunset Jazz at Newport series with performances by Byron Stripling and the Bobby Floyd Quartet with Jeff Hamilton and Bruce Forman at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa, Rose Garden, 900 Newport Center Drive.
