Free Chick-fil-A, Successful Aging and a PTA Meeting

1. The Corona del Mar PTA will meet today in the big gym at Corona del Mar High School. The agenda includes a brief address from Superintendent Fred Navarro and new teacher introductions.

2. Anyone who donates blood or platelets today at Hoag Blood Donor Services will receive a free Chick-fil-A meal, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To make an appointment to donate, call 949-764-5621 or send an email to donateblood@hoag.org. Hoag Blood Donor Services is located at 510 Superior Ave. Suite #130 in Newport Beach.

3. Today from 1-2 p.m., Dr. Hong Shune from Hoag Medical Group, will present a free lecture on successful aging at the OASIS Event Center. Registration is required, call 800-514-4624 to RSVP. Dr. Shune will provide tips for maintaining your health as well as what you need to know as your health changes. The Oasis Senior Center is located at 801 Narcissus Ave. in CDM.

4. Save the Date! People are needed for Coastal Cleanup Day to help pick up trash that has accumulated in the Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve.  Volunteers will meet at the Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center at 2301 University Drive in Newport Beach. Clean Up Day will be held on Sept. 21. It will be begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at noon. Pre-registration is required for this event.  Please email unbic@ocparks.com to register or for more information.

5. Today will be partly cloudy in the morning, becoming mostly sunny, according to the National Weather Service. Highs near the coast will be 80-85, and 94-99 inland.
