Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Poll: Choose the Best Burger in Newport Beach

Patch seeks to crown a local eatery.

Mouthwatering. Succulent. Delicious. It's Game On in determining the best hamburger in town. Patch readers have had a week to consider the best burger  in their little patch of America, and it's time to vote.

Texture. Aroma. Taste. Everything is in play when it comes to choosing how you want to spend your $2, or maybe you're willing to spend $9. Does cost matter? You can vote with your wallet, the same way you vote for your elected officials. Or you can simply throw your budget to the wind and cast your ballot with the best burger regardless.

The ... best ... burger. Regardless.

And if there's a burger joint that's not on the list, go ahead and write in your candidate in the comments, just make sure it's in the town that your Patch is covering. We know a good thing when we see it, and we can add it to the ballot—or count the write-in votes. Patch loves an underdog.

So take a few seconds—literally, a few seconds—and punch the ticket for some local eatery to be crowned burger champion of Newport Beach.

Voting continues through Friday, 5 p.m. At that time, we'll know who stacks up, and whose condiments are lacking.

It's burger time.

Vote for your best burger, and make your case for it in the comments. Tell us in the comments.

Best burger in Newport Beach belongs to The Crow Bar. Described in two words, BLACK LABEL (hangover style)!!!

Crow burger kitchen, no contest. It's not the same old burger and fries that you can get just anywhere (duck fat fries anyone?). I've never had a bad burger there, and the double j burger is what keeps me coming back. This place is just what Newport needed!

Chip Nichols just emailed Patch to vote for the Balboa Burger at The Island Grill on Balboa Island. Chip says, "The Island Grill is a walk-up window right on South Bayfront at the corner of Agate Street where you get on The Balboa Ferry. I order it with EVERYTHING ON IT. Fresh and Fabulous, and very reasonably priced (under $6). You can even call in your order so it will be ready when you get there. 949-673-1186. They make it fresh from scratch when you place your order AND you can't beat the view and the waterfront dining!!"

Can you read? This opinion poll is for the Best Burger in Newport Beach... not Ocean Beach (San Diego). The Best Burger in Newport is unequivocally the Black Label Burger at the Crow Bar. Period!

Can you read? Hodad's is excellent... but it is in Ocean Beach (San Diego). The best burger in Newport Beach is unequivocally the Black Label Burger at the Crow Bar.

I love Islands Fine Burgers and Drinks Newport Beach! I can't even decide which burger I love the most, but the Teriyaki burger has to be it. Or maybe the blue cheese burger. Either way, I leave completely satisfied and fulfilled.

Don't vote for corporate! Islands is the 1% here, where the superior Crow Burger blows their burgers off the grill and onto the floor.

Stopped in for a takeout burger for lunch at Island' Newport Beach on MacArthur, that was the best burger. (I went to TK because someone told me they were good, the Island's burger was way better)

I forgot to mention the fries because you can't fully enjoy a burger without them... TK used to have pretty good fries, not anymore. Islands has the best tasting, never ending order of fries on the planet.
