O.C. Senator to Chair Republican Caucus
State Sen. Tom Harman, who represents several Orange County cities, promises to focus on creating jobs and easing regulations on businesses.
State Sen. Tom Harman announced Thursday that he has been elected to the post of Senate Republican Caucus Chairman.
"Free-market, pro-growth policies are critical to a flourishing economy, but to protect the taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars, we must hold the line on irresponsible and uncontrolled state spending as well," Harman said. "I look forward to working with my Republican colleagues to ensure our priorities and policies are not ignored by the legislative majority."
Harman, whose district includes Seal Beach, Fountain Valley, Rossmoor, Newport Beach, Los Alamitos and Laguna Beach, touted a unified GOP caucus, and vowed to band together with Assembly Republicans to focus on creating more private sector jobs and eliminate regulations, he said, that are "choking small businesses."
Harman added that he favors policies that would put money into the state’s coffers without increasing taxes on an "already overly taxed California."

"Free-market, pro-growth policies are critical to a flourishing economy, but to protect the taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars, we must hold the line on irresponsible and uncontrolled state spending as well,"--- I am very pleased to hear this as a Republican and previous business owner... Tell me Senator Harmon, do we hold these values protecting tax payers from Fraudulent business that commits Felony to hide its Fraud Model ensuring endless and continuous victimization of every tax payers in Newport while it’s neighbor ethical business is forced into reputation of of disgrace and discredit? My conservative Republican ethics do not abandon responsibility to society and reputable district where business can flourish...CDM Chamber of Commerce pumped out two pages of fraud and liable of respected citizens in support of puppy mill pet store committing felony in OC.Superior Court-- Profiteering solely from Federal violations of our companion animal rights turning our city into torture profiteering wh---res.... This is not good for business.. ..

Free enterprise must maintain an invisible line when we engage in areas where we loose credibility as human beings. A respectable successful Republican does not promote murder and torture as free enterprise but acknowledges it as INHUMAN. Pro Business Pro Federal Torture and Murder is not an investment that will shed growth for city business or for the Republican party defending profits of federal torture suppressing it on the city of Newport Beach who needs not engage in such indignity to maintain effectiveness. . An effective Republican is HIGHLY ineffective when abandoning basic moral dignity of a human being.

There is nothing I like more than hearing about than "Free-market, pro-growth policies are critical to a flourishing economy, but to protect the taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars, we must hold the line on irresponsible and uncontrolled state spending as well," So, I'm sure that we will hear about how great the tax system was under Republican President Dwight D Eisenhower, and how we should have a state tax system modeled on that (with the dollar figures adjusted for inflation), because it was fair and right (I mean it was under a Republican President for all four years he was in office).
So, Sen Harmon, I'm glad to hear that you will be fighting for a progressive tax system.
