DUI Checkpoint Set for Friday in Newport Beach
Officers will also check to make sure drivers have valid licenses.

The Newport Beach Police Department will have a sobriety checkpoint Friday on northbound Jamboree Road at Santa Barbara Drive.
The checkpoint will operate from 9:00 p.m. Friday until 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
Drivers who pass through the checkpoint will receive a brochure about drinking and driving. Officers also will check to make sure drivers have valid licenses.
There have already been more DUI arrests in Newport Beach this year than in 2009.
