Four Chicago residents were arrested this week following an investigation into a crime ring that targeted Apple Stores nationwide, including the one in Newport Beach.

Police arrested four Chicago residents this week suspected of organizing a crime ring that hit Apple Stores across the country, including the one at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, the Daily Pilot reported.

Ausra Bauzinskaite, 34, Adeliya Nassybullina, 30, Lukasz Karasinski, 37, and Przemyslaw Skiba, 31, were arrested by Torrance police Tuesday following a four-month investigation involving 17 thefts in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

According to the Daily Pilot report, the men would select the products and the women would hide them under oversized dresses and overcoats. The suspects would then try to shop the items out of state, police said.
